This is probably the best all around camera I have ever owned. The camera has a tremendous light gathering ability. Even pictures on the foggiest of days come out with great contrast. The camera can be completely automatic if you want it to. Or you can switch back to manual if you enjoy experimenting with pictures. I do a lot of astrophotography with this camera. It works very well for some of the brighter objects. However, it does not have a cable attachment. So, its back to the old Pentax K-1000 for dimmer objects. The camera also works great for quick action shots. I take pictures for the Michigan NASCAR race. It has amazingly fast focus speed and shutter speed. The pictures come out extremely clear. I have also taken some excellent sunrise and sunset shots. When I am fortunate enough to see some northern lights, it captures the image without fail. The camera may not cover everything for the professional user. But if you are an advanced amateur, this one may work very well for you.
