The Nikon N-60 is a great camera for someone who is looking for their first SLR, yet it offers all the advanced features one would need. The automatic mode is excellent for those who have been hesitant or maybe even scared of SLR cameras. The worry free aspect of not having to adjust aperture settings or shutter speeds makes this camera perfect for beginners.
Don't get me wrong the Nikon N-60 is not strictly a beginner camera.
It offers all of the features to get great negatives. Combine that with quality processing and I truly believe you will be very impressed with your photos. Also add a Nikor lens, as Nikon optics are second to none in addition to the standard 28 to 80mm lens. I recommend a 70-300 telephoto lens and an external flash and you have all the camera you need.
What I love most about this product is the Nikon name which ensures that you are getting the best quality camera. I also love the simplicity in use as it acts pretty much like a point and shoot camera, yet has the versatility that one can only get with an SLR. I love mine and would never settle for anything else. Another thing I like about the N-60 is the weight. It actually feels like I have something in my hand, it's not too heavy, but is unlike the Canons and Minoltas which feel so light. I do know that some prefer the lightweight of the Canons and Minoltas.
If you are looking for a camera that is easy to use yet is as advanced as you need, you can't go wrong with the Nikon N-60.
