Okay... now I'm taking great pictures. This camera is the one that makes me look like a professional. I purchased this camera after researching price and features and came to the conclusion that the Nikon N60 was it. Packed with the ease of use features I was looking for, yet still having the ability to manually select special options really is nice. I knew after getting the fist set of pictures developed that I was going to be very pleased with this camera. I purchased the N60 package which came with the 28-80mm lens, 80-200mm lens, a tripod and a lens cleaning kit. The purchase price was right around $620.00 The only additional accessory I wanted in addition to these was a camera bag. I went to Wal-Mart and sprang for another $24.00 to get a good camera bag for the complete package.
I really don't have anything bad to say about this camera. I'm not a professional photographer so I can't be to negative about a camera that only makes mistakes due to operator error. Based on what I have read and the experience I have had with this camera all the bad pictures I have taken are due to my inexperience. Going back and reviewing what I did wrong has taught me a ton. I would recommend playing around with the different camera settings and shooting a few rolls of film before seriously using the camera. This will allow you to understand the functions before you mess up some really important memories.
Before I purchased this camera we owned a Kodak Advantix Zoom camera. The Nikon N60 is a quantum leap from the Kodak as far as picture quality. You are also looking at a quantum leap as far as price is concerned but I have always been a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". If your going to be taking a lot of pictures and you want something that will last a lifetime the Nikon N60 is my recommendation for the average photographer.
