Pros: Quite affordable, clean sound, solid build
Cons: None come to mind, except perhaps the styling
The Bottom Line: A large amount of wattage, clean sound, solid build, useful features, and a low price. What more could be desired, except perhaps less resemblance to a a blue brick?

| mrkumquat's Full Review: US Acoustics USX-4085 Car Amp |
I purchased this model a year ago for approximately $220, although the price has come down to around $180-190(?) recently. I was initially a bit apprehensive of the quality of this product, considering the price for wattage was far lower than most other brands.
On arrival, I noticed just how well built it seemed; a solid, dense heat sink, unlike the thin, small heat sinks that are often typical of budget amplifiers. The unit has built-in crossovers and rca pass-throughs, which would be quite useful for those seeking the simplest, most compact system possible. Even though I do not use the extra features, I still find them to be a nice consideration on the part of the company.
After installation, the amp has performed as well as I expect any good amplifier to: High sound levels with no audible change in sound character, no added shrillness to high frequencies, and good clean output with no background noise. In comparison, I have also used an Orion Cobalt 150.2, a good economy unit which I perceived to be a tad bit sharper on high pitches. Additionally, the amplifier's build quality has proved to be quite up to par as time has passed. I have destroyed two lesser amplifiers in years past, with a combination of high volume and rough driving that certainly does not improve the lifespan of hot internal components. Overall, I have found this amplifier to be everything that I wanted, at a price that did not bother me at all.
Note: I would rate it a 5 on durability, but it's only had one year to prove itself.
