| Capt_Ratman's Full Review: Alpine CHM-S620 6-Disc CD Changer |
Had my CHMS-620 for 1 year and 27 days when it decided not to play anymore (first played song & went to next song but gave an error code CDE-1 which means the cassette tray was jammed), got it home and ejected the cassette and re-inserted it. It couldn't find ANY of the CD's anymore (error code CD0-000) and no matter what I tried, it wouldn't load-up any CD's. Called 1-800-ALPINE and talked to a representative who was very kind but since it was out of warranty by 27 days, the best they could do was classify it under a warranty assistance program. It has been a few days now and I haven't heard anything from them????? I paid over 300 dollars and I expected this CD changer to last longer than 1 year!! I would recommend anyone to go with another CD player due to the UNRELIABILITY of this changer. My opinion of Alpines quality went from very high to very low due to this situation. I would rate it a 5 in sound and operation but a 1 in reliability.
