If your JVC deck is older than 3 years, this JVC changer, the CD X200, will not work. You will need to buy a special adapter. These adapters are hard to find.
Let me tell you a quick story about JVC. I got my deck from my dad (who owns a car lot and mechanic shop) about 3 years ago. As it was, the deck was already a year old. The guy who had it before me had a changer, but took it with him. The deck is a talking JVC tape deck, worth about $600 (CDN). I love this deck. Well, I've been trying to get a changer for about 3 years. I've had no luck. Everytime I went for one, I would have a mishap with my car and no longer have the car, or be able to afford the changer. So, finally, this year for Christmas, my parents told me they would buy me one, but I had to find it myself. So, I called every car stereo place in the book. No one deals with JVC. As I'm about to cry, I tried Future Shop as a last-ditch effort. WOO! They only had one left, so I put it on hold and was there within a half hour. The guy assured me that it would work, so I bought it with my parents credit card. After Christmas my boyfriend tried to hook it up with no luck. I called Future Shop and talked to a manager, with no avail as to a solution. I called their installer, who told me it couldn't be done. Luckily, I have a few friends in the industry. A friend told me it is possible to have an older deck to a new changer. I finally got the part, and now it works.
So, if you are looking at this changer and you have a JVC deck, make sure your deck isn't older than 3 years or you'll have to go hunting for that special adapter. Otherwise, this changer is amazing.
