Pros: Good sound, crisp treble, nicely made
Cons: Tweeters whine at high volumes, low power handling
The Bottom Line: It's very true that these speakers don't hit bass very good, if at all, but they're louder then most others out there.

| aj99929's Full Review: Pioneer TS-A6969 Coaxial Car Speaker |
I bought these for my car nearly 2 years ago and had them hooked up to my Kenwood cd player. And they sounded good, but there wasn't any bass at all. I then hooked them up to a good amp, and they still sucked. The midrange was very high, and the treble would give this deafening high squeal at high volumes. And they power handling is a little strange. The RMS is accurate, but the peak is exaggerated. I got some vega 3 way's and they blew these away.
One thing these are good for is their good sound on lower power sources. I hooked them up to my home theater receiver with 70 watts per channel, and they can barely handle higher volumes because the woofer just can't take it. They sound really excellent hooked up with a powered sub. With the bass down they sound really good at high volumes. And the 93 db's is very noticeable. The rest of the speakers in my system can barely keep up. And on a receiver the vocals sound much better. Still a little high at very loud volumes. And they might not hit the low bass, but they hit the higher bass very accurately. And with the bass turned down they are very loud. They seem to last very good too. I've run a lot of power to them when they were in my car, and they still work just fine. I'm just glad they're good for something. Though not the best buy for car audio. And you can get a lot better without the pioneer price.
