| 12judge's Full Review: Polk Audio dX9 Car Speaker |
They take a beating but keep on ticking. I mounted these under the dash in my Jeep Wrangler. They provide excellent sound quality despite getting wet, muddy, and dirty.
I rarely have the top on my Jeep, so rain, dirt, dust, mud - it all gets in there sooner or later. These speakers aren't immune. Sure, they are covered, but they still get wet and dirty. I didn't want to spend too much money on speakers that I thought would get torn up over time by the water and dirt. These speakers have far exceeded my expectations.
I abuse them, yet they consistently provide excellent sound quality. The sound is crisp and clear. I play a lot of CDs and the sound quality is excellent. It is just about as good as my much more expensive Sony stereo system at home. I didn't expect that type of quality from a fairly inexpensive car speaker.
Good bass and plenty of clear treble. Even if you crank up the bass, the speaker handles the music well - and the treble/bass balance is great. The 3-way balance is excellent. I have never had Polk speakers before and bought these based upon a recommendation from the stereo dealer. I have not regretted that decision.
