These are the top of the top of the line Polk Audio speakers. The suggested retail price for these things is $230. I got these brand new from www.discountcarstereo.com for $130. That's $100 less than the MSRP. Note: These are sold in pairs.
I can't give a professional review of these speakers yet because these are the first after market rear speakers I've had in my car.
I blew out the two rear stock speakers and one of them made one of the most annoying sounds in the world whenever it tried to produce low tones. I hesitated way too long to install new speakers.
Since I already have a Polk Ex II component system installed, I wanted to keep my system somewhat consistent, so I decided to buy the Polk dX9's.
Each one is a 6x9", 3-way, full range speaker (no crossovers needed). And since these are full range speakers, they'll produce mostly any sound that is audible to the human ear.
It's amazing how much quality these have added to my system. I already own an MTX subwoofer which produces more than enough bass, but these things add a very noticeable amount more.
Due to my lack of experience with these (I installed them very recently), I can't give an in depth review on the reliability. But, I am glad to say that they have functioned perfectly so far.
Overall, if you're looking for really nice 6x9" speakers and don't want to deal with a lot of technical issues that plague DIY car audio installations, then these speakers are for you.
