| rfosgate250's Full Review: Rockford Fosgate FNP1614 Car Speaker |
I purchased two sets of these speakers from Best Buy for my truck. They work wonderfully, I had both sets running off my Rockford Punch 250a2 and the highs would nearly shatter my eardrums. The bass is a little weak, but if you have a set of subs, you don't have to worry about the bass from these. The midrange frequency response is incredible, I can hear all the mid-frequencies, even over my subs (2001 Rockford HE 12"). They are a great set of components to boost the sound staging of any vehicle.
However, the only down side is the pre-wired crossovers. The crossovers are come wired from the factory with 18 gauge wire, and 18 gauge just kills the signal coming from the amp. I recommend these if you are not planning on using an amp, but if you are, cut that 18 gauge wire as short as possible and run 16 gauge for great sound performance!
