In three words, I could completely summarize this epinion... PIECE OF $#!*
First of all, I had stupidly purchased this unit on looks, as I must admit that the Aiwa had some appeal to it. I also liked the little line-in jack on the face because I could plug in my MD player and listen to other stuff while on the road. Also, the price was very reasonable, which made me like it even more...
Soon was I to learn that this was the worst purchase I have ever made, as the faults of this POS head unit arose. First off, every little bump or pothole i hit in the road caused the CD to skip... I'm talking about those little dots in the damn street to mark out lanes. Secondly, the unit runs REALLY hot, I mean, these things get warm due to the fact that the amplifier is built in to the head unit, but the face was literally hot after removing it.
However, it was due to the terrible skipping problems that I resorted to return to Best Buy and exchange this unit for another of the same. After all, all companies are allowed to screw up due to quality control, etc... WRONG!!!! As soon as they installed the SECOND stereo, I had already begun to experience SEVERE skipping problems. Guess what I did??? Yup, I brought it back to Best Buy and returned the damn thing for a Pioneer CD unit, which I must say has not given me ANY trouble since it's purchase (see my review).
Needless to say, I haven't purchased another AIWA product ever since, and I would warn anyone who decides to purchase anything from them. I had heard somewhere that ever since they were bought out by Sony, their products have gone severely downhill... AMEN TO THAT
