I have been buying Alpine stuff for years, I almost got and Eclipse head unit until I saw the 7839. This head unit is great, it supplies enough power to push most speakers a decent amount. It has great features and has the best playback of any in dash CD player ever. I haven't heard this thing skip yet, I can go through huge pottholes, over railroad tracks and still it doesn't skip. Yet again I am impressed with the quality sound signal that the Alpine sends out. Alpine continues to blow my mind with their new technolgies. Match this HU with one of their CD changers and you'll have endless hours of music in your car as it was meant to be. Unless of course you haven't upgraded your speakers but I doubt that. I recommend this HU to anyone who is on a limited budget as it can be found for under $300 almost anywhere.
