| kappaccino11's Full Review: JVC KD-LX1 Car CD Player |
I have been the proud owner of a JVC Kameleon for the last two years. I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla, and the day I brought it, the first thing I went to do was go have a Kameleon Deck put in it. My father has one in his BMW, my brother has one in his Camero.
The way I look at things, is that you get what you put into them. You can't have factory speakers and then put in a deck like the Kameleon and expect it to sound like you are at a concert. You have to match the pieces. The number may appear low, but I have my deck, with a set of 4 Boston Speakers, and then a 10 inch Pioneer Subwoofer. So the complaints on there not being enough of bass is a misconception. Even before I had my subwoofer put in there, and it was jsut me my Boston speakers and the Kameleon. It was just perfect. Now if you put in a pair of Sony's with this, naturally you will not get the most out of you deck. I sent in my bostons, to get them repaired because I blew them and I had a pair of sony explodes. I wanted to throw those speakers out of my car and ride in silence. I can not speak on AIWA or Pioneer but as far as matting a Sony speakers with the JVC you are not maximizing your potential.
The button configuration is fine by me, I have no complaints out of it. It could be perhaps that I am small maybe not, but I have no complaints about the button configuration.
The only complaint that I ahve of the deck is the piece of plastic that hodl the buttons. At times it does seem like itcan fall off easily, but I have actaully forgotten it was there, and forced it down and it didn;t break. So this has changed from a complaint to a compliment.
The idea that you can see the kameleon when it is out must be in a car that has no tinted windows. Or it depends on the color of your interior. IF you have light brown interior and a light tint, then of course you will see the deck. But if you have a darker colored interior with a decent grade of tint. You cant see it. Sometimes I sit in my car, and forget that it is there.
And so I am an official JVC product man.
