| snlash's Full Review: JVC KD-LX1 Car CD Player |
The KD-LX1 JVC cd player is a quality stereo, however it is not worth the money you spend on it. You can easily a lot less money on a different player and get the same quality.
The installation is terrific, and easy to do. The sound quality is good, but not great. The "disappearing faceplate" would not deter many criminals though, as you can still obviously tell it is a cd player. The CD Text capabilities are awesome, but there is a lot of space used on the face of the player that could be used for better, more high-quality graphics. They even feature a space that says "loud", even though there is no "loud" button. When I called JVC to ask where the loud button was they said that that was only for their overseas models and they just kept the word alone on there for the American version.
The cruise function is very annoying if you don't have a high-grade system. It turns up the volume automatically when your RPM's increase, which if you don't have good audio equipment, results in a lot of distortion.
Overall, it is a good system, however, I wouldn't spend that much money on something that you could purchase for the same quality at a lesser price elsewhere.
