I only bought this unit for 1 reason, it has a headphone jack. Why is this important? I have an MP3 computer in my car, that would be useless without having an input to my stereo. The only alternative would have been an fm transceiver which degrades audio quality.
Before I bought this unit, I already had a JVC unit, which fortunately meant I did not have to replace the harness, just plug it in and go. That was great. It has a remote, but it's still in the box. Honestly, what good is a remote control in the car? it's just as easy to move your hand towards the deck
I do have a problem with this unit though, the drive mechanism inside is somewhat noisy. Having compared this to my old JVC head unit which was silent as could be, I don't see this as being good. Furthermore, I seldomly hear a faint skipping noise, as if the cd is off balance, and outputs a ticking noise. Hard to explain, but this shows that the unit has some manufacturing issues that were not worked out.
I'm glad I have the extended warranty, I may just bring it in and have them replace it. If there were any other head units with rca inputs or headphone jacks, I would consider them over this.
