| sparky506's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-1000 CD Changer |
I recently went to our local Hooper's store, and went looking for a CD player for my 1996 F150. The guy there said he had just the thing for me. I don't have a lot of money, since I am only 15, but he said he had a good player for a good price. Since I got it, I have had no problems with the Pioneer. Pioneer has great sound quality, easy to use, great design, and lots of presets.
The first thing I noticed about my Pioneer was the quality of the sound. I had heard that the CD player would improve the sound of my factory speakers, but I wasn't expecting this. Not only is it louder, it sounds better. Where I used to listen to my factory radio as loud as it gets, I listen to my Pioneer about volume 13. I don't know how loud it gets, since I got blown away at volume 20.
Next, it is very easy to use. When I got in my truck, I couldn't find the manual. Without the manual, I set all my presets, and was listening to a CD before I got home, about a mile and a half away. I later found my manual, which was of no use, since it was so easy to set.
It also has a great design. Though it is an older model, it doesn't look all square, and old. It always lights up, so I can see what I'm doing in the dark. I can also see what time it is during the day. You know when it's bright outside, it's hard to see the clock, right? It was with my factory radio, at least. Not with the Pioneer. I have no problem seeing it now.
Lastly, the Pioneer has lots of presets. It comes with 3 FM bands, so whether my mom, dad, or I am driving the truck, we each have our own presets. There are six presets per FM band, also. So we each 18 presets total, WAY more than we listen to, but it's fun to fill them all up. It also comes with 6 AM presets, for you people who love talk radio (UGH!)
All in all, if you're looking for a cheap CD player that has excellent quality, this is the thing for you. If you are rich, and want the fanciest thing on the market, you probably won't be happy with this. But I have recommended it to everyone I know that is thinking about buying a car CD player, and think everyone will love it.
