My hobby, my passion, my killer of time: I install stereos, and the pioneer brand name has been nothing but a blessing to me. their easy wiring harnesses interface directly with their speakers, through the use of connectors that few other brands use. The result: better sound. There are no mixups as to which is the positive and which is the negative terminals on the speakers. Furthermore, Pioneer always seems to sound good. There is plenty of power available in this particular model (DEH-P1000), and the controls are easy to use. The preset sound selections, with custom programability make this unit an unbeatable value at $230. If you are looking in the low to mid line for a car with the standard DIN E dash, go for a Pioneer. As the name implies, they are exploring new territory in sound reproduction.
