I actually inherited this from my little brother. It was too complicated and he wanted a different radio.
I am very particular about the sound in my car, so I have a good system. One with amplifier high quality speakers and a subwoofer. When you have a system like this you don't really need an expensive car stereo. Just one that is reliable and the CD does not skip.
What I like about this car stereo is that the CD player does not skip. I don't think I have ever heard it skip. Also what's nice about it is the different bass options and LOUD levels you have. The sound is clear and the radio stations come in nice. That is probably due to the supertuner III that Pioneer incorporates to all their car stereos. Since I live in NY, some radio stations do not come in well. I have had many car stereos and find that the Pioneers are best in tuning in stations. The detachable face is handy for those of us who live in NY. Also for all the features it has you can't beat the price.
Now I will tell you the cons. This car stereo is WAY to complicated. My brother lost the manual and it took me a while to figure out all the features. To adjust the bass and treble is a pain in the neck. Especially if you are driving. You probably have to keep the manual in the car to remember how make adjustments.
If you need something that is going to be reliable sounds good and are willing to put up with the complicated controls than I would say go for it. But if you are one of those sound freaks like me that has to constantly change bass and treble controls I would suggest you shop further.
