funkdaddysmack's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P3000 Car CD Player
This isn't going to very a very technical review, I'm not the audiophile that I'd like to be, so most of the numbers don't really mean too much to me. All I can say is this CD player is very sweet! I bought it from Walmart of all places, for $220. You can't beat that! I got it installed in my car a week later ('89 Chevy Beretta GT) and I couldn't be happier.
Well, the deck sits out really far in my car, but that's just my car. I thought my factory speakers sounded pretty good when I had the factory AM/FM cassette in, but this player really makes my speakers sound nice! It's 45w x 4 channels, which is about the highest I've seen as any CD player, I know a lot of the expensive ones have 45w x 4. I have two 6x9s, and two 3.5s, and they sound great. I'd like to get some subs for my car, but they would rattle it apart.
Anyway, the CD player is feature rich. There is a lot of stuff that you can play around with, and make it sound just the way you want it. Another cool thing, is the automatic EQ. It's really handy, and it allows you to make your own custom EQ setting, which is also a really nice feature. I've had it skip about 2 times, and I live in PA, so that's a really good thing. The roads in PA are the worst in the country, so it's virtually skip free. I don't think that there is a better cd player out there for the money. I suppose I'm biased, but it's a great deck, I suggest you look into it!
