| princethunder's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P4000 CD Changer |
When I first decided to build my stereo system in my car, I had a major decision to make on which CD deck to get. I was pretty much torn between the Kenwood eXcelon receiver or the Pioneer DEH-P4000. I am very glad that I chose the Pioneer. This deck not only has a lot of power (22x4 rms, 45x4 max, all MOSFET), but it is also is loaded with features. One of many great features of the P4000 is the Front Image Enhancer, which takes all mid range and high frequencies out of the speakers to give more of a front image to the audio. For system building, it includes two preamp outputs to add external power amplifiers. The wattage should be enough for clean sound, but if you want to add subs, the pre-outs come in very handy. The preamp voltage is 2.2 volts, which is only slightly higher than the industry standard. The Easy EQ button comes in very handy for someone who doesn't want to do too much software work on the CD player. All that you need to do is depress the EEQ switch and find the sound you want. You can choose from Super Bass, Powerful, Vocal, Natural, and Flat. This is a feature-rich cd player for anyone who wants something that is above and beyond the base-level cd player.
