The DEH-P4000 by Pioneer is one of the best in-dash stereos for the buck out there today. Its so good, in fact, that after my first one was stolen out of my truck last year, I went out and bought the exact same stereo, even though there were several newer models out at the time.
The 4000 offers many sound adjustments, along with several preset levels designed for specific types of music. The only thing I didn't like was there was no simple old bass and treble adjustments, it was all letters and numbers that takes a professional to figure out. But you can go by ear, like I did.
The 4000 is also a good buy at about $250. You really cant get anything of that quality in that price range. And its a Pioneer, so you can pretty much bet on a good quality piece of equipment.
Another good thing was the 45 watts per channel, meaning its got power to spare.
So when you do go buy this, may i suggest buying new speakers, too.
