I saw the fold down face Pioneer at the local stereo shop where I like to hang out at and had to have one.
The stereo gets great radio reception! The CD section almost never skips even over the hardest bumps. The laser is powerful enough to play the dashboard CD's that my friends throw away or to me when there players wont play them anymore.
The 6000 will control a CD changer, has Cell phone interrupt, has several preset EQ settings and a customize setting where you can set it the way you like it. There is an AUX input where you can run a VCR/P or DVD through it to play the sounds through out your vehicle stereo's speakers.( you do have to purchase an adapter to make this work for about $60.00) There is a remote option. There is an onboard crossover Hi-pass and Low-pass, which you can select to be either on or off and can choose to crossover Hi-Pass @ 125, 80, or 50. As well as Low pass also.
The Fold down face is most excellent as the face has more display room since the slot for the CD is behind the face.
The 45 x 4 power of the stereo is actually enough power to run a small subwoofer on the rear channel and the mid and hi range speakers off the front channels of the player.
Even though the stereo has plenty of power to run your whole system without additional amplifiers. I wouldn't advise it. You are better off adding the power of a quality amplifier to enhance the ability of the 6000.
Over all I love my CD player. I am constantly trying to improve my entire stereo system. In the near future I am adding 3 more 12's walling off the back of my truck (covered with a Leer fiberglass top) which will render the rear view mirror useless. With that in mine I will be installing a camera in the 3rd brake light of my truck which will be controlled by the push of the remote or stereo face for easy viewing behind me.
If you can buy one you will love it.
I almost forgot! There is a security system in the CD Player. it is wired to the dome light of the vehicle so if the face is removed after you exit the vehicle the stereo arms itself. Then if a door is opened and the face not replaced within 30 or 60 seconds depending on how it is set. A high pitched sound comes out of all your speakers and the horn honks (optional). You can turn the alarm off or on easily if you choose. I don't use the alarm as I have a Clifford alarm.
