Pros: Excellent Electro-luminescent display, full-motion 3d, and generates less heat.
Cons: Price is steep, fading button pads.
The Bottom Line: Besides a few minor exterior problems, the stereo is great. I would recommend this stereo, only if your budget covers it!

I bought my Pioneer DEH-P8000R when it first came out and boy was the price high. Over the years of using this stereo, i would have to say it is the best stereo i have ever purchased. The Full-motion 3D organic EL display, the "Interactive Pioneer Bus System control" (allows compatibility with 6, 12, and 50 +1 multi-disc players and T.V. tuners), and the built-in DFS ALARM pushes this stereo to the future of car stereos. The MOSFET 45 chip increases the output of the music by 45 watts by 4 channels while at the same time generating less heat internally than traditional stereos. The easy EQ also allows the ability to program a custom setting in addition to built in settings which allows a quick flip of different modes of listening. You can change from Super Bass to Vocal, to Normal, to Flat, to powerful, and then to your customized setting. The Organic EL displays are excellent (city, space, equalizer bar) quality and the stereo allows for a great show to your friends and family alike. It's like watching a mini-video in your car!
On one bad note is that the buttons on this stereo tend to fade after awhile. I might be too picky but the track, volume, up and down selection buttons, and the menu buttons tend to fade and wear out quite easily. It's either that or i change my settings and volume too often! I have a complete-audio system in my car and when i replaced my old pioneer face plate with this one, it was a dramatic change. As always, i am still pleased watching my stereo every time i'm driving . . . so are my friends!
