I have owned my Blaupunkt pcwg120's for over a year now, and I am still satisfied with my purchase. These speakers are made for the person who wants good bass response at cheap prices. Overall, the pcwg120 are a good solid speaker that will satisfy most people.
SOUND
-----
Blaupunkt is very well known for making component pieces that look and sound good, the pcwg120 is no exception. For starters, the woofer responds to frequencies between the 20Hz and 2000HZ zone. This gives you both the low rumble bass, and the smooth mid bass that most people look for in a subwoofer.
Another great aspect is the tone of the speaker itself. The pcwg120 has a very natural tone quality that comes from the vacuum formed poly. For example, you will hear the actual bass notes instead of a muddled explosion of sound.
What this sub lacks is that really hard, tight bass you get from a higher wattage sub. Most people wouldn't notice this, but to a car stereo buff, it can make all the difference in the world.
DESIGN
------
Probably the best thing about the Blaupunkt pcwg120, is that it was designed to fit into any type of enclosure. To get maximum efficiency, put the woofer in sealed box, to get hard thumping bass put it in a bandpass. The rigid construction of the cone will allow any and all enclosures to be used.
One of the attributes that sits in the middle is the wattage. While being low enough to be powered by a cheap amp, this also decreases the efficiency rather dramatically. This means that the sub itself will heat up faster than more efficient ones. So, if you plan to run your stereo for a long time at high volume levels, this sub might cut out, or even blow.
OVERALL
-------
Overall the pcwg120 by Blaupunkt will give you lots of bang for the buck, but if you want competition sound, and bass to crack open your skull, you would be better off to go with something from Cerwin Vega, or Audiobahn.
