| kevin30327's Full Review: Technics SA-EX110 Receiver |
This is a great sounding stereo receiver for the price. I got this receiver open-boxed with a 5 year warranty for $75. I think it's normally about $100-$150 if I'm not mistaken. Here's a quick overview:
Multi-room capability: Two sets of speakers can be hooked up running into different rooms. The receiver will only power one set at a time, but can switch with the push of a button.
Good power: 100 watts is very decent power for an inexpensive stereo receiver. I'm using a pair of JBL HLS810 speakers (I reviewed them too) with this stereo receiver in bedroom and the sound is phenomenal. I'd recommend looking for these speakers (or possibly the northridge series) to go along with this stereo. They make a great match. (I actually own 3 sets of the speakers. I have them set up with my onkyo in the living room as well). The Technics outputs heavy bass through them and outstanding treble.
Inputs: The receiver has limited inputs, all of which are standard, analog rca plugs (1 CD input, 1 tape input, 1 VCR, and a phono input for your turntable). It even has a tape output and VCR output. The modes are very easy to use. There are clearly marked buttons for each input mode on the front of the stereo. Setup and usability are easy. Just about anyone should be able to figure it out.
Overall, this is a great receiver that packs lots of punch with adjustable highs and lows (the bass output is great). It's easy to use and very inexpensive. Highly recommended for great sound at a low price.
