I spent a great deal of time looking for a mid priced digital capable receiver, and I have been extremely pleased with the performance. At 80 watts per channel it provides adequate punch, and has enough features to keep most audiophiles happy. The sound is crisp and clean, is relatively easy to set up, and the on screen programming is quite user friendly.
I did find a couple drawbacks. There is only one coax digital input, and the remote takes some time to get used to. I would also opt for the AVR 2800 is I were to make the purchase today to get the DTS decoding.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with this receiver. I have had it for nearly a year, moved it, dropped it (not recommended) played it loud for long periods, and never had a problem.
