Pros: Excellent channel separation, 5 channel mode that works well
Cons: Bad heatsink design. Remote can be better.
The Bottom Line: If you can get it for 50% the retail price GO FOR IT!!!

I was looking for a replacement receiver for my Yamaha RV2092 which doesn't have DTS decoding for a while now. I didn't want to spend another $1500 for anew receiver so when I saw the Denon AVR3300 being auctioned at Ubid, I couldn't resist. Paid almost half of the retail price for this unit.
This unit has enough inputs to satisfy anyone who has a lot of video components. It even comes with component video switching capability. Unfortunately it would pass wide band component signals if you're using and HD receiver. It should be much of a problem though since most HD monitors have two or more wide band component inputs.
The audio quality is great especially on movies. It works equally well on both DD and DTS modes.
The unit allows you to change most parameters like speaker distances and delay times. One note worthy feature is the Cinema EQ which helps tames overly bright movie soundtracks.
The remote however leaves much to be desired. I finally bought another remote to control my home theater setup.
This baby gets hot so make sure you leave plenty of breathing space for this receiver. I bought a small 12 volt fan from Radio Shack and used a 6 volt transformer on it so it won't make noise and attached it to the back. It really helps cool it down even when you're running the receiver at high volumes.
This unit comes with the usual DSP modes. Only the 5 channel stereo caught my attention. It gives music more dimension.
For anyone looking for a quality receiver I would recommend the Denon AVR3300 as one of the Best buys available for the features and power you get with this receiver.
