Pros: Truly Amazing build quality, everything rock solid! Great sound quality. Tons of power on tap.
Cons: No DTS decoding. No Component video switching. Remote control buttons become sticky over time.
The Bottom Line: This reciever WILL become a classic. I have no DOUBT about this. The sound quality, power and construction will make this a LEGEND.

| mosfet86's Full Review: Denon AVR-3600 |
I bought this thing way back in 1997. I remember one of the main reasons I bought it was because it had Dolby Digital built in (back then, all other receivers were DD "ready", and a separate decoder was necessary). Well, after nearly 10 years this thing is still going strong and I have ABSOLUTELY NO DESIRE to upgrade or replace it. The build quality is INCREDIBLE. The power output is AWESOME. It does not have DTS but I say "who cares?", DD works fine for me. It also does not have 7.1 channels but to me 5.1 works JUST FINE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH (I mean, how many speakers do you want all over your living room?). Frankly, I feel very lucky as this receiver seems to be quite "future proof". I guess if I had ONE complaint, it would be that it would be nice if it had HD component switching (it just has composite and S-video switching). I have an HDTV, progressive scan DVD and HD cable so I can't use the Denon as my central switching component. But that is a small price to pay for such INCREDIBLE QUALITY. They just don't make 'em like this anymore!
