Pros: H/K AVR 510 is exactly what the company said it would be...AWESOME!
Cons: Remote can be difficult to program!
The Bottom Line: Since their wasn't a review on the 510 I decided to do this one. I recommend the unit.

After exhausting research, mall, audio store visits, I decided to purchase the Bose 901 speakers. Knowing that I had to have a decent receiver to "push" the 901's, I continued my quest for the best receiver. I decided at first on the H/K AVR 110. The receiver was first rate, however I discovered that to maximize the 901's pure sound, I needed the pre-amp hook ups to insure the equalizer that is used on the 901's would work. The H/K 110 didn't have this feature so I went back to the drawing board. I found out that the H/K 510 did have the pre-amp feature. After countless hours on the internet, and reading about 12 publication reviews (I know, why didn't I do this the first time) the H/K 510 seemed like the logical choice. I sold my 110 to my neighbor and purchased the 510.
MAN...what a significant difference! After hooking the 901's up to the 510 receiver, I INSTANTLY could tell the difference! The sound quality is OUTSTANDING! Not that this makes a difference, but I'm a Special Agent assigned in Washington DC. I attend concerts at the Kennedy Center, Fords Theater, Warner Theater, and other outstanding concert halls all the time with the U.S. Cabinet member I'm assigned to protect. And the music that is generated from the H/K, Bose match up is exactly as if I was in the Kennedy Center!
If you are in the market for a quality receiver, look no further! For the price I paid for this system (640.00 US dollars, shipping included) was worth it! The 510 retails for about a grand, but I found this really nice place in New Jersey (email me if you want the address) and the guy shipped me the receiver in 2 days!
I'm really pleased with looks, sound, and value of my 510. I don't know about you, but I feel really great when I make a purchase and I'm not second guessing my purchase decision.
