Pros: Very easy to control, quite a few inputs, looks good, cheap
Cons: Over-rated amp, very distorted, low-quality overall.
The Bottom Line: Amplifier is very low-powered, cannot believe they state 100wattsx5. Controls are very easy to use, integrates well with other kenwood components. Movie playback is horrible.

| superducky55's Full Review: Kenwood VR-307 Receiver |
I paid just over 200 dollars for this a couple years ago.. sadly, i haven't got around to buying a different one since then. This receiver's power ratings are FAR overrated at 100x5.. When in dolby digital mode this thing i highly doubt could kick out 45x5, the sound just is not loud in 5 channel mode, and is extremely fuzzy/distorted. However, in stereo mode the sound is descent and you can get it fairly loud, but there is still some distortion in the background. There are no 6channel inputs, which sucks. The receivers controls and remote are very easy to use, everything is laid out in a logical way. However, this receiver is pretty much just outdated and was a "value" receiver in the first place. Kenwood does make some very good products, but this is not one of them. If you can get this receiver for cheap and you just want it to listen to music, get it. But for dolby digital movie playback, you have to have it at 75% power to even hear the words clearly. Not recommended for movie playback or for anyone that wants to utilize the 5 channel amp in some way. once again, For stereo mode it works fine.
