Pros: cheap, sturdy, easy to use, many inputs
Cons: volume control is weird. it goes backwards. So 30 is louder than 40...takes some getting used to.

| KRomeleoN's Full Review: Kenwood VR-307 Receiver |
I was in the market for a new receiver since i out grew my "mini-system". My main concern was inputs. I had a record player, cd player, cassete player, pc, minidisc player, and TV to plug in. 7 inputs! There was only 3 receivers in the store that had that many. This one, a onyo, and a harmon kardon. The harmon kardon was nice but had too little wattage. The onkyo while powerful, lacked on features. I did not need dolby digital, at the time, but figured what the hell. I bought it for 300$. It dropped to 220$ a week later, and thanks to price protection at this store, i got 80$ back.
The playstation 2 is coming out october 6. Guess what? Ps2 uses optical output, for its sound. Guess what this receiver has? optical input. So this receiver is ready to crank out playstation 2s games and dvd beutiffully. Too bad for the people with there analog rca style dolby digital.
Overall, a cheap, sturdy, easy to use receiver. With 7 inputs, and dolby digital built in, this will last a looooooong time. U cant go wrong.
