I was given this receiver as part of a deal with Bose when I bought the Bose Acoustimass 700 surround sound system.
After I hooked everything up and set up the amp as instructed in the manual I thought that either I did something very wrong or I had a bad amp and/or speaker. The sound was so flat that it was almost like the bass speaker wasn't working. If I turned it up as loud as possible and put my ear to the bass speaker I could hear it working but it definitely wasn't giving me the effect I got in the Bose store.
To make a long story short, I pulled out my old amp and hooked it up netting me the effect that I assumed I would get when I bought the speaker system.
I'm not so sure that the problem is the amp. I think the amp may be fine, (I'm going to use it on my old stereo system), but it just isn't strong enough to drive the speaker system.
