Pros: You will never have to go to a theater again!!!
Cons: Only a 6 ohm receiver. and power on the remote doesn't stay on very long.
The Bottom Line: Bottom line the home theater experience is excellent and so is the music quality. Match it with 6 good speakers(center, front, rears, and sub) and you will never want to leave home.

| cadbury's Full Review: Kenwood VR-3090 |
The Good:
I just upgraded my receiver from a 440 watt technics receiver, with dolby pro logic, which was a decent home theater for its time. But now that I have the vr-3090 I am in heaven. the sound quality is excellent. the separation between speakers is like nothing I've never heard. I watched Jurassic Park DTS version, I thought the Dinasaurs were right next to me. I just upgraded my speakers to polkaudio and the sound is even fuller and richer than before. If you like watching movies this is the receiver for you. It has RCA inputs and outputs, S-video, Optical digital inputs, and also sub output. there are also s-video and RCA inputs on the front of the receiver for easy camcorder hook ups. The remote will control anything and is capable of learning new functions.
The Bad:
The impedence of the receiver is 6 ohm opposed to the standard 8 ohm, so it is hard to give this receiver the 100 watt/channel rating it has. The power to the remote doesn't stay on long. If you ever lose the remote your screwed as the receiver has very few functions that you can control without the remote. If you don't have any sound you have to check to see if the receiver is set to digital or analog. The remote does have a bit of a learning curve so patience is required. but once you learn the basics your flying.
