| sharkis's Full Review: Kenwood VR-3100 Receiver |
Although this unit sounds extremely well, and don't get me wrong, it's a fine piece of engineering. You might want to consider otherwise. Using that remote gets very annoying after a while. I actually resorted to using my old kenwood to change the volume. It's too clunky, and you can't beat a single-hand-held remote. With the kenwood remote, it generally requires 2 hands, and eyes focused on the remote. For all you couch potatoes, that means extra work.
The quality of this amplifier minus the remote is superb, the sound is great, the features are rich. But that stupid remote really makes me angry. If kenwood were to replace it with a standard remote, I would be ever so happy, but for now, I will be content with the awkward remote. Every time someone sees that remote for the first time, they ask what it is. Looks like some sort of gameboy...I wish.
