I did the most research I have ever done when I started looking for a receiver 6 months ago. I chose the Marantz SR 18 and could not be more pleased. It is a powerful clean sounding receiver. With my 4 ohm MK speaker system (another great purchase), the receiver can deliver up to 195 watts per channel. The full range of sound is dynamic beyond belief. It has more punch than anything I have ever heard. It is easy operate but priced for only the serious user. We use it equally for movies and audio--it is a wonderful system. I bought it through the mail at a great price--not one bit of hesitation to recommend it to anyone. Search the net for reviews--you'll find hundreds of outstanding reviews.
