| NeuralAcid's Full Review: Pioneer VSX-D308 Receiver |
I received the VSX-D308 as a gift recently. It was packaged with the speaker package as well, ready to set up. As soon as I took it out of the box I found assembly to be very simple and easy. It took me a total of 20 minutes to connect the speakers, and attach each component I have.
I find it as a very versatile system as both a home theater sound system and a stereo system. It took a few days to figure out which sound settings would sound best for different sources and I find this to be the hardest part of the entire system. Now, on with the sound: With video sources like a DVD player it performs impeccably. I suggest to anyone who buys this get a DVD player to truly experience the full capabilities of this system. With a radio source it performs very well. Connected to a cd player, crystal clear sound flows from the speakers to your ear. AS a very easy to set up, but feature rich receiver I suggest this to anyone who has been thinking about home theater systems but also enjoys jamming to Bach or Tchaikovsky occasionally.
