| lwbink's Full Review: Pioneer VSX-D309 Receiver |
I really didn't expect much when I purchased this gem of a receiver through an auction site for $150 shipped. Boy, was I surprised. The 60 X 5 is plenty for the size of our family room. The sound is much better than expected. DVD's are great matched with my Toshiba 3109 hooked thru the optical audio input with an S-Video cable running to my Toshiba 32" TV. The digital audio cable input is connected to our digital cable service and I'm more than happy with that so far, although Direct TV is in my future. I purchased the Pioneer 309 two years ago and never had a problem with it. I'm looking for an excuse to update my receiver but the only reason I can come up with is the lack of inputs and no S-Video...but I'm getting by completely satisfied with this receiver otherwise.
