When we decided to put in a surround sound system, we did a lot of checking. Not only did we ask family and friends for their opinions, but we asked an electrician and a sound system installer. They all agreed that we couldn't go wrong with a Pioneer.
This multi-operational system does everything but bring in signals from outer space - actually, it does that, too.
The features on this fine piece of equipment are many.
AM/FM Stereo Tuner (with 30 preset AM and FM stations)
Jacks for your CD, DVD, VCR, Tape Deck, Satellite Dish and your old phonograph turntable - for those like me who still cherish some of those old fashioned 45s and LPs.
In addition to the ProLogic sound effect, you can tune this receiver to five different sound fields, including, a concert hall, a sound studio, and an arena.
Using the remote control,you can program the sound for independent right, left, rear and sub levels, set the different sound effects (mentioned about), change the function for your mode of activity (VCR, Satellite TV, CD, etc.)
The remote is a cinch to use. Every button is labeled: pro logic, 5-D theater, master volume, center level, rear level, etc. To change your mode of listening pleasure, you have the "function" button. By pressing that, you enter the many activities from which to choose (VCR, DVD, CD etc.)
The stereo system operates on 100 watts per channel and the surround system operates on 100 watts x2 or the front and rear speakers and 100 watts x 1 for the center speaker.
For a clearer and more professional sound, Pioneer has included its Digital Noise Reduction for each source.
It offers three video FRONT a/v inputs (so convenient when plugging in your video camera)
When I first laid eyes on this unit, my initial reaction was: "What am I doing? I'm NOT an electronic genius!" Well, you know what? You don't have to be. Pioneer has seen to that. This receiver practically operates itself.
With the push of a button (maybe two depending on what your desire is) you're all set to experience the sound of a lifetime.
This RECEIVER is so powerful and does so many fantastic things, that all I'm waiting for now, is to RECEIVE a message from Mars!
