| roger_richards's Full Review: Pioneer VSX-D608 Receiver |
The 608 has all the essentials for the mid-range home theatre system. Full S-Video switching, 3 digital audio inputs which are individually setable to a specific input, a digital audio output, easy to setup and use. Negatives - no direct access of an input from the remote. You can directly select an input via a dedicated input button on the unit itself, but on the remote, you have to toggle through all of the inputs in a circular sucession. Also there is no OSD but sometimes that is an advantage. In this price range (~US$350), this is a bargain. Those who say the amplifier is not up to snuff, need to compare it to receivers in it's class.
