| rich0437's Full Review: Sony STR-DE825 Receiver |
When I as looking for receivers the Sony STR-DE825 by far came away as the best receiver for the price. But after owning it there are a few features I wish it had for instance it only has spring clips for speaker output, it would be nice to have speaker-binding posts. The best feature that the STR-DE825 has is its interaction with other Sony components. If you own other Sony components, such as if you have a high capacity Sony CD changer you can download the CD-MEMOs or the CDText right to your LCD on your remote. This is really convenient when thumbing through your CD collection. You are also able to label each component you are connected to instead of the generic CD or Video1 I put CD200 for my 200-disk changer, and VCR for my VCR. The major downfall of this receiver is the little things that are included on the model one step up: STR-DE925. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and buy the STR-DE925. This model has a front A/V input, a DTS decoder along with the AC-3 decoder, 1 more audio output, 1 more audio input, and 1 more video input. The only other thing that was a nuisance was that the remote takes a little getting used to, but after that is incredibly powerful.
