Pros: Realistic Soundfields, Solid Construction, Unbelievable Sound when watching DVD's in Dolby Digital.
Cons: Huge main remote/not very user friendly, music sound quality could be better.
The Bottom Line: If you are going to use a receiver for movies and television more often than music than I would highly recommend the Yamaha RX-V2092.

I have been using this receiver for almost three years without any problems. I purchased the Yamaha RX-V2092 because of its realistic soundfields and outstanding theater quality sound while watching movies. Yamaha is the only brand that has the Cinema DSP soundfields. The RX-V2092 has a very high quality look to it with its brushed black metallic front and bold knobs and buttons. The front also has a fold down face on the lower section that hides the fine tuning adjustments as well as video auxiliary jacks(S Video, Video, Audio left and right). The receiver has an abundance of connection options allowing for two center channel speakers with two jacks for external amplifiers, two front effect speakers, two external amplifier output jacks, two subwoofer outputs, and three AC outlets.
The front effect speakers improve the soundfield with movies and music. They work best when placed a several feet above the main front speakers. The receiver sounds and performs best when watching movies and television and is average for music play. When listening to music, it just doesn't sound as realistic compared to DVD's
The on-screen display for your television makes the setup fairly simple with the remote, but using the remote for everyday use can be a bit complicated. Especially if you program your other remotes to it and make it the "universal remote."
