When we decided we needed a new stereo system (I'm too ashamed to tell you what we used to listen to), I really let my husband do most of the research. Then we went shopping and came home with this one.
Now, I'm not up on all the technical specs, I just wanted something that sounded good, and this does. Why? Because of the amazing sound filters this thing has. These people didn't fake their filter settings. They actually went to several places, set up equipment and programmed how sound behaved in that environment. That's cool.
The settings from these real places filter the music through concert hall, stadium, club, etc. so you can change your album to sound live and up close or live and in a big arena, and it really is great! It's like getting whole new albums of your favorite songs. Some of the music gave me chills it sounded so much like a live performance.
It also comes with lots of plugs for other devices and can be used for home theatre. The remote is daunting, it has sooo many programmable features I still don't know them all, but it also has shortcuts and just the basics. But it controls other components once you program it, which is nice.
Give it a listen if you're looking for more than just the basics but aren't into mortgaging your house for the top of the line stuff.
