Pros: Good overall sound. Excellent contruction.
Cons: Spring Clips.
The Bottom Line: If I can use them in a Recording Studio, you will enjoy these excellent bookshelf speakers. Not for the Audiophile, but everyday lover of music.

| bleak7's Full Review: Bose 201 IV Main / Stereo Speaker |
I use these speakers in a Recording studio to A/B mixes while mastering audio. These speakers sit on top of Studio Monitors 3x their cost.
The sound quality is very smooth. The frequencies around 8K-16k are not harsh, but rather calm. You can also play these speakers at very high levels for a long time without damaging the coils and cones.
The Cones are very durable.
The Bass response is very respectable. They cut off around 60Hz, which is enough for good punch and nice lows. For those who like Rap music and want more bass, you will need to purchase a Sub.
I also own the 301's and have used them for nearly 10 years without ANY problems.
Read my reviews on the Bose Acoustimass 6 system, I have owned those for over 2 years without any problems as well.
If you are looking for quality speakers that are small and fit on the shelf, these will work for you. The price of these is an investment. You will own these for a long time.
