Pros: Excellent Sound, Compact Size
We didn't need new speakers, but we did need smaller ones. The Pioneers that we owned and sat on the floor were just too big for the space that speakers needed to be in our new home.
In my retail search, trying to find something that would have a nice sound, not take up too much space I was finding locally to be in the $300 price range. That was more that I wanted to spend.
After shopping at www.hifi.com and doing some comparing, these JBL HLS610's at $99 for the pair were looking like the right purchase. I must admit I was concerned because the price seemed quite low, but after talking to a customer service person, I felt they would supply ample power and sound for the living room.
They arrived by UPS yesterday and I must admit even I was surprised at the quality of these speakers. They were easily connected to my receiver. All I had to do was unscrew the connectors (which were color coded)slip the corresponding wire in, and screw it down tight. Instantly there was music. It was great music! I liked the size at only 16" by 9" by 9", they were small enough to not be terribly obvious, but still do the job.
Some of the features of these little dynamite speakers are:
A nice black finish, 125 watts power handling, 8 ohm impedance, tuned bass enclosure, but most importantly is the sound. They put out a great sound at a very reasonable price.
If you happen to be looking for some different speakers and do not want to break your budget, then look into JBL!
Best of all, I was really please to see on the label "Designed, Engineered, and Manufactured in USA"...that is something you don't see much of anymore!
