I purchased these from crutchfield.com and have been quite happy. I purchased the white pair, as I have them mounted on the wall as rear surround speakers.
These are paired with Polk cs245 center, RT600 Fronts, and a psw250 sub. An Onkyo 494 with 55watts drives them. They are used primarily for home theater/TV usage, but occasionally for music.
The sound is great. Watching "The Patriot", I could clearly hear cannon explosions in the background and they truly sounded like they were behind me. The quality is good enough for front pair usage, which is great since you need high quality speakers these days for the full dynamic range of DD or DTS surround.
They are a bit big hanging on the wall, but the rear bass port has a built in bracket for easy wall mounting. It also has feet at the bottom of the back for secure mounting. They made a great decision there, you save the cost of mounting brackets plus the installation looks cleaner.
These are mounted behind me so bipole/dipole was not an option.
The bass is average, but with a quality subwoofer, they work well as front or rears. They actually seem to have the same build as the RT600's I have, but I'm not a speaker manufacturer :).
Other sounds are clean and have excellent imaging, which as I said before, is important with todays digital surround.
The price is the same as any other quality speaker manufacturer.
The speakers are heavy which tells me that the construction is top notch. I did have one problem, where one of the tweeters, did not have on of the screws in it. This is why I recommend buying from Crutchfield, as they have great customer service. They responded to my email the same day and already shipped me a replacement pair FIRST. They included a free return label, so all I did was swap them out in the same box. So easy and I didn't have to ship it back on my $ an wait for the exchange. (note: Polk responded the same day too, and they sent me a bunch of screws)
I think you will be happy with these speakers as surrounds paired with a good home theater setup.
