I bought the 225 after much debating over buying this model or going with another more expensive model. I finally listened to them at Sears and was convinced to buy it. This is a great center channel to have when listening to dvd. The dialogue is clear and crisp, just a great speaker for dvd. Even when watching a vhs tape this speaker does a great job. On the other side? When I listen to the center on different modes for something like my cd's that's when it gets into trouble. This speaker cannot handle high vocals. Even when turning the tone down and switching to soft or flat, the speaker crackles on high notes. This is a very frustrating thing for me. So my suggestion is this, if your really considering a acoustic research center channel save the extra hundred bucks or so and get on of their higher-end center channels. I only paid 100 on this center channel, but I would have gladly saved the extra money to get something that was totally flawless.
