| hicksons's Full Review: Polk Audio CS245 Center Speaker |
This speaker recently excelled itself when I rented a DVD that had a lot of acoustic guitar coming out of the center channel. It was amazing, it was as if the guitar player was there in the room with you. Everyone in the room was commenting on how good it sounded.
I use this speaker a lot for TV / movie viewing, never normally for music, and I have it paired with the Polk RT800i's which I must say match perfectly in my opinion. The clarity of the dialog is great, and the 2 woofers are large enough that it can handle a lot of bass on it's own.
I tested many other center channels, but I did not test this one, as they didn't have it on display in the store. They told me that either this one or the CS400 would match my RT800i's, so I went for this one, as the CS400 was considerably larger, and $50 more. I took their word for it, and had listened to the CS175 which I was impressed with, so figured this could only be better. It was, and I was extremely happy with the matching to the RT800. It is a seamless transition when dialog flows across the 3 channels.
