Pros: Nice price, small size, good sound, easy set-up, powered subwoofer, durable
Cons: Center speaker a bit weak for movie dialogue.
The Bottom Line: For the price, I don't think I could have done much better than the JBL 125's. They are still going strong after more than 2 years...highly recommended.

| lwbink's Full Review: JBL SCS125A Speaker System |
I purchased this JBL speaker set 2 years ago from Altavista to start my home theater experience. They have been great speakers for our small-sized family room. The 5 matching cubes are rated at 50W each and I have them running through a Pioneer 309 receiver which is 60 X 5. They work very well together, especially for DVD movies.
The powered subwoofer is not the greatest, but a good match for this system. My only complaint is that the center speaker could be stronger for movies. I have seen the JBL SCS135 at Best Buy, which has a larger center speaker.
The speakers are easy to set-up and come with mounting brackets if needed. I have the satellites mounted to a wood beam above our fireplace and purchased matching stands for the front speakers from JBL. The center speaker sits unobtrusively atop my 32" Toshiba.
