If you can find these for a good price, then don't hesitate!
I recently (last week) bought these speakers for $124.50 each at a local Sears ... I brought them home, and attached them to my Receiver (a Kenwood)... I have always been impressed by AR, and I continue to be. Even with a thin wire, and a less than top-quality receiver, these speakers sound great. They don't provide much bass, yet who wants bass through their front left and right speakers? That's what subwoofers are for. Even without a center channel, they reproduce voices from my DVDs clearly and precisely. For the money, you can't go wrong... you have to go Acoustic Research! And you do not even have to tell your neighbors of your decision; they'll "hear about it" soon enough.
