Paradigm Mini Monitor, a classic 2-way speaker design in Paradigm's "Quiet Enclosure". It has a 6 1/2" co-poly woofer with a die cast chassis and one 1" titanium tweeter, crossed over at 1800hz. The port is in the rear, which makes it hard to place in the room. The power rating is 100 watts. The frequency rating is 57-20,000HZ -+2dbs.
The Mini Monitor is simply AMAZING! This speaker will put most to shame. Like the B&W 601S2,602 S2,CDM-SE1, I tested it against. The "air" in between voices and instruments is great! Very flat sound with no peaks. Strong bass to 50HZ in my listening room. Very tight and pitch accurate. The tweeter is laid back and warm. But not warm in the same breathe. The Mini Monitor has a clear and transparent sound. The mid range is natural and clean. This speaker is flat, with no audible peaks or dips. The soundstage is huge. I can put each speaker facing directly forward and still hear sound in the middle and back and left to right. AMAZING!
I recommend using a subwoofer with this speaker. That will make the mid-bass, mid-range, and highs more clear and clean.
This speaker is great for the beginning audiophile who isn't crazy enough to spend 1,000 or more dollars on a speaker. You can if you want, but it won't get you better sound. Maybe slightly better.
